The Hask hair care brand—with NYC roots dating back to 1946—is now free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten and artificial colors. Derived from exotic oils from around the world, products feature argan oil, macadamia nut oil, monoi oil and keratin protein.
“When we were developing the Hask line based on exotic oils, we wanted to make as natural a product as possible, while still being affordable for the average consumer. Removing sulfates and parabens was an obvious decision. But after speaking to our consumers we realized there was an increasing concern regarding gluten,” noted Hask Beauty Executive Chairman and Chief Marketing Officer Peter LaFlèche. “We felt there was enough anecdotal consumer experiences of gluten penetrating the scalp that it merited our attempting to remove it from our shampoos and conditioners.”
The line of shampoo, conditioners and shine oils just launched at Ulta this month and retails for under $10.
