In honor of Veteran’s Day, Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Walmart are partnering with Jared Allen, defensive end for the Chicago Bears, and his foundation to help better the lives of Chicago veterans through the support of the Eddie Beard Homeless Veterans’ Housing Program (Vet House).
On Nov. 11, Allen will visit a local Walmart store to stock up on P&G products, which he will then deliver personally to the Vet House, an organization dedicated to providing interim housing for up to 15 honorably discharged veterans at any given time.
“Our wounded warriors have sacrificed to protect our freedom, and this is one important way of recognizing them for their service and saying thank you,” stated Allen.
Walmart and P&G echo Allen’s sentiment and have exemplified it through a longstanding tradition of giving back to the men and women who serve in the U.S. Military. For the Vet House, they are providing a year-supply of much-needed products including Bounty, Oral-B, Old Spice, Tide, Crest, Scope and Charmin.
“We recognize the significant sacrifices these individuals, along with their families, make in support of our country,” stated Tim Marrin, P&G spokesperson. “We are pleased to support the Eddie Beard Vet House with Jared Allen.”
