Beiersdorf appointed Jesper Andersen to the Executive Board as of May 18, 2015. Born in Denmark, Andersen has held several management positions at Colgate-Palmolive worldwide since 1994, most recently in New York as CFO North America.
Following an introductory phase, Andersen will gradually take over responsibility for the Finance Division from Ulrich Schmidt as of Sept. 1. Schmidt will retire at the end of the Annual General Meeting on March 31, 2016. He has worked at Beiersdorf for over 30 years in a variety of management positions.
In other news, Beiersdorf AG, Hamburg, continued on its profitable growth path in the first quarter of the current financial year. Organic group sales rose by 0.7%. In nominal terms, sales increased by 6.9 to €1.706 billion. Both business segments contributed to this positive performance, according to the company.
