The WFFC is pleased to announce the 2015 Annual Recognition Award recipients. They are Joyce Raad Lipman (retired), Odila Zocca (Premier Specialties, Inc.) and Tony Moore (Flavor Producers). The award recipients will be honored at the WFFC Annual Recognition Dinner held on June 24, 2015, at The Grove, located at 692 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.
To honor the late Nancy Poulos for her profound impact on the organization, the WFFC Board has newly created the “Nancy Poulos Leadership Award.” This annual award will be given to a WFFC member who, like Nancy, has demonstrated unique leadership throughout their profession. The first Nancy Poulos Leadership Award Recipient is Joyce Raad Lipman, a founder and the first president of the WFFC.
Lipman joined Crompton and Knowles Corporation in 1976, and in 1978 she was promoted to Manager of Purchasing. She went on to work at Charabot & Co., Bush, Boake & Allen, Inc., E.L. Scott & Co., and retired from George C. Brown & Co. In 1983 Lipman won the YWCA TWIN Award in Ridgewood, NJ. She received a tribute from the WFFC on the 10th anniversary of the organization in 1992. She served as an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey and has continued to volunteer for various organizations including the Red Cross and those in her community.
In the early 1980s, at an industry gathering of women, Lipman presented the concept of establishing an organization, which eventually became the founding mission of the WFFC. In 1982, the WFFC was formally established. She became the first president, and continued her involvement in the organization at various capacities.
Odila Zocca, technical vice president and chief perfumer (Premier Specialties, Inc.), is the recipient of the Perfumer Recognition Award. She started her career at Unilever, followed by time at Quest, Ungerer & Co., Bush Boake & Allen, Inc., Manheimer Fragrances, and for the past seventeen years with Premier Specialties Inc. Odila is a contributing writer in the book “Successful Flavors.” She volunteered for the Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad for 12 years and the Domestic Violence Response Team for five years.
Tony Moore, Chief Flavorist (Flavor Producers), is the recipient of Flavorist Recognition Award. Moore began his career at The Cino Company, followed by Beck Flavors, Moore Ingredients, and A.M. Todd Group. Currently at Flavor Producers, he oversees global new product and business development of organic flavors, ingredients and consumer products.
