Dr. Bronner’s current president David Bronner changed his formal title to chief executive officer (CEO) in order to promote his brother and co-owner of the company, Michael Bronner, from vice president to president. And, in true Bronner family style, recognizing his brother didn’t like his new title, Michael’s first act as president was to promote David to Cosmic Engagement Officer (CEO).
This change comes shortly after the passing of “Uncle” Ralph Bronner in February 2015. Ralph Bronner was one of two sons of Emanuel Bronner, founder of the company and held the title of executive vice president.
While Michael has traditionally focused on developing international business for the company, now 25% of Dr. Bronner’s net revenues, and David on the domestic and activism fronts, they have jointly managed all major business areas and initiatives for the past decade.
“I have initiated this title change to appropriately reflect my partnership with my brother Michael,” says David Bronner, newly titled Cosmic Engagement Officer (CEO) of Dr. Bronner’s. “We own and run this company together and have for years. Now our titles are side by side on our organizational chart and reflect the cooperative nature of our joint leadership,” continues Bronner.
