Lonza appointed Dr. Jamie Hawkes FRSC to the role of global head of hair care technology for its personal care business. His new role will include a focus on the global hair care market. He will drive technical and business efforts as he leads the hair care technology team in the newly constructed Global Centre of Hair Care Technology in Manchester, UK. Additionally, working in close collaboration with sales and marketing, he will manage an international network of focused technical efforts in hair care within Lonza’s regional laboratories.
Hawkes comes to Lonza with entrepreneurial experience in developing – from creation to launch – a wide range of luxury hair care products and patented technologies that are underpinned by scientifically and internationally solid claims substantiation. Most recently, he served as technical & operations director at Perachem Ltd, where he worked closely with global personal care organizations. Prior to Perachem, he was senior lecturer and director of knowledge transfer at Wuhan University of Science and Engineering in China.
In other news, Lonza Consumer Care has expanded its exclusive third-party distributor relationship with Azelis Americas (formerly KODA Distribution Group) to include the sale of hygiene products into Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. The change became effective Jan. 1, 2016.
Lonza’s Hygiene products include hard-surface EPA-registered disinfectants and sanitizers, EPA-registered preservatives and non-registered quaternaries and amine oxides for use in Industrial and Janitorial cleaning, as well as Food Service, Food and Beverage processing, Healthcare and Animal Care applications.
