CoverGirl has partnered with actress and musician Zendaya as the fresh new face of its campaign. The current roster of CoverGirls includes such pop culture icons as Katy Perry, Sofia Vergara, Queen Latifah, P!nk, Ellen DeGeneres, Becky G and Janelle Monáe.
Zendaya’s first ad will launch live during the Grammy Awards airing on CBS on Feb. 15, featuring a new line up of CoverGirl products – Plumpify Mascara by blastPRO, truNAKED shadow palette and liners and Colorlicious Oh Sugar Lip Balm. Then, coming summer 2016, Zendaya will be the face of CoverGirl’s cornerstone collection – the iconic line of Clean products – plus a new mascara. For more P&G Beauty launches, check out the February edition of Happi out soon.
Zendaya currently stars and co-produces the Disney Channel's hit spy comedy "K.C. Undercover," and is working on the follow up to her self-titled debut album, which yielded the platinum-certified single "Replay." An NAACP, BMI and Teen Choice Award nominated entertainer, Zendaya has performed around the world, including at the White House.
Outside of entertainment, Zendaya is committed to a bevy of philanthropic work. She is an ambassador for Convoy of Hope, served as the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson last fall, and has worked with Make-a-Wish Foundation and Keep A Child Alive.
“I am so honored to join the company of a roster as celebrated and diverse as CoverGirl’s,” said Zendaya. “I can’t wait to share some of my own beauty tips with fans, and work alongside CoverGirl to continue empowering girls and women to celebrate their individuality.”
“Watching Zendaya’s work and authentic conversation with fans in social media was truly inspiring to us at CoverGirl,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, executive vice president, Global Color Cosmetics, P&G. “She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes, and makes no apologies for who she is – we love her energy, confidence, and willingness to experiment and express herself with makeup. I know that together, we will do big things and help evolve the perception of beauty today.”
