For Fall 2016, nail color looks range from Retro Stone to Chic Metallic, as seen at New York Fashion Week. According to Rebecca Isa, creative director for Zoya, “The Jill Stuart collection featured rich velvets, romantic ruffles and dazzling jewels that were all perfectly complimented by the multidimensional Edyta hue. Stuart wanted a polish that was as multifaceted as her Autumn/Winter collection that is why she chose a complex mixture of gold, olive, blue-green and smoky grey with a sparkling metallic finish.
At Herve Leger, the look is fresh, clean and healthy, said Isa. She explained, “This is created using the deeper toned Mauve Perfector, which gives a flushed nail with a pink layer over it to add an element of brightness. The high-shine gloss finish makes this look elegant and wearable.” The Herve Leger Autumn/Winter collection featured daring, bold designs with bright colors and geometric patterns that were effortlessly complimented with the subtle and perfected “Naked Manicure” by Zoya.
Cream Neutrals was big at Mara Hoffman. Said Isa, “Mara allows every girl to be her own unique person and this was translated into the presentation by using four nail shades based on outfit and the models’ coloring to highlight each girl’s personality.” Hoffman’s Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection had strong 70s glam vibes with vibrant patterns inspired by her favorite disco-era icons. These unique and bold designs were accessorized with four cream nail shades ranging from ivory to deep nude to Bordeaux to a muted green.
Zang Toi’s elegant resort themed Autumn/Winter collection features a bold array for colors and fabrics for which he chose to accent with a touch of sparkling glam. “This collection was inspired by Zang Toi’s recent ski vacation to Courchevel and features a theme of grey and black hues with a touch of color from vibrant grape and classic red tones, all of which coordinate with the chic and glistening Imogen nails,” noted Isa.
The Rachel Zoe collection (pictured) was inspired by the 1930s, but with the sexiness of the 1990s and Marlene Dietrich as the muse, said Isa. The Rachel Zoe Autumn/Winter 2016 collection features gorgeous rich satin, velvet and fur fabrics to for a highly glamorous look for any fashionista which was complimented with Riley— best described as a medium raspberry red creme with purple undertones—for the perfect retro-glam nail.
