For Jeremy Scott’s eclectic AW16 collection, Cowboys and Poodles, the models strutted down the runway to Blondie’s “Hanging on the Telephone” wearing glittered cowgirl boots and retro cartoon prints with sequins and feathered trims, paired with statement galactic makeup.
Wella Professionals Global Creative Director of Care and Styling Eugene Souleiman drew from varied inspirations to create a style that complimented the show through its eccentricity – from bold burlesque glamour to John Waters’ iconic Hairspray styles and Fifties pin-ups – all coming together in a “Barbie goes to Vegas” style.
“The hair at Jeremy Scott is very big, sexy and some might say trashy, but I would say fun. It’s slightly Barbarella-esque – but it’s all about the volume and not about perfection. Although it has its roots in the fifties, there’s this modernity in the texture and imperfection to the style,” said Souleiman.
Products used include Wella Professionals EIMI Sugar Lift, EIMI Perfect Setting and EIMI Stay Essential Finishing Spray for hold.
Nails were created by Miss Pop for OPI at Jeremy Scott. A natural nail base coat was used. For this show, the lacquers that were used were OPI Shorts Story, OPI I Just Can't Cope-Acabana, OPI A Good Mandarin is Hard To Find, OPI Infinite Shine To Infinity & Blue-yond, and OPI Infinite Shine The Sun Never Sets.Once the lacquer is dry, a layer of OPI Kyoto Pearl was applied.
Meanwhile, inspired by the unique individuality that makes us who we are, from the clothing to beauty look and casting of models, Rag & Bone’s AW 16 collection embodied real style and evokes the idea of allowing people to come as they are – personal, unique, distinctive and special. Wella Professionals Lead Stylist Paul Hanlon said: “I was influenced by the individuality and personality of the models – the casting this season was very diverse which lead me to focus on not defining one look, but styling each model by their personality, style and hair texture.”
Each model had an individual look and texture but what tied everything together was the overarching hair aesthetic inspired by cool, street and urban style – symbiotic with Wella Professionals EIMI collection which speaks to confident and expressive individuals who want to stand out from the crowd.
