Croda today reported 2015 sales rose 4.2% in constant currency to £1.08 billion ($1.5 billion at current rates), capping six successive quarters of underlying sales growth.
"I have joined Croda at an exciting stage in its development," said Chairman Anita Frew in a statement. "Innovation in 2015 reached a record level with over a quarter of our sales coming from new and protected products (NPP). This has increased our product differentiation and improved the quality of our business. We continue to lead our sector; a speciality chemical business developing distinctive ingredients for attractive niche markets."
Frew credited underlying sales growth in all business sectors and all regional geographies. She noted that momentum continued in personal care and life sciences delivered excellent sales and profit growth. According to Croda, the recovery of sales in personal care since mid-2014 continued in 2015, although markets remained subdued. Underlying sales increased by 1.8%
