Glo has reformulate its range of skin care products, eliminating polyethylene beads from its cleansers and polishes. The Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015 mandates that all PE beads be phased out of rinse-off cosmetics by July 2017.
Glō has updated four skin care product formulas, eliminating the use of PE beads entirely and replacing them, in part, with Lessonia's CelluloScrub, which is said to provide gentle mechanical exfoliation to help slough away dead cells to smooth skin's surface and allow active ingredients to work more effectively. Made from a modified cellulose extracted from wood pulp, CelluloScrub is 100% renewable and biodegradable ingredient. The reformulated products include:
Daily Polishing Cleanser $36: Now features a combination of jojoba beads made from natural wax that dissolve after use without negative impact on the environment, as well as Celluloscrub.
Refresh Facial Polish $26: Now features Diatomaceous Earth, a naturally-occurring fossilized algae with high silica content that provides gentle exfoliation and jojoba beads.
Brightening Polish $44: Now features jojoba beads made from natural wax that dissolve after use without negative impact on the environment to provide gentle emollient exfoliation and help deliver active ingredients directly to the skin.
Clear Acne Cleanser $38: Now features synthetic wax beads that dissolve after use without negative impact on the environment to provide gentle physical exfoliation without stress or irritation to the skin.
