Piyada Charoensirisomboon was appointed vice president, global development personal care at BASF on February 1, 2017.
Prior to this, Charoensirisomboon managed BASF’s Advanced Chemicals’ Innovation Campus Asia Pacific in Shanghai. She joined BASF in 2000 as a research fellow and has held various positions in marketing, research and development, and new business development.
Charoensirisomboon succeeds Karlheinz Hill, who retired end of December last year, having been with the company for more than 30 years.
Charoensirisomboon, 45, was born in Chon Buri, Thailand. She has a PhD from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, as well as a Master’s degree in engineering, and a Bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry from the KMITL in Bangkok. Of the 17 years Charoensirisomboon has worked at BASF, eight were spent in Germany.
