David Gittleman, global sales director of Micro Powders Inc., died on August 19 after battling cancer. He was 47. Gittleman joined Micro Powders after graduating from Lehigh University with a biochemistry degree. He had recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with the company and during his career made vital contributions to Micro Powders' immense growth.
Gittleman started his career at MPI as a quality assurance chemist in the industrial coatings division. He was promoted to US sales for the industrial division for the East Coast and his territory was expanded to South America and Mexico. He successfully grew this area, building strong customer and supplier relationships and developing successful products for MPI.
Gittleman was instrumental in launching Micro Powders' personal care division and was named global sales director of the division. Due to his unrelenting passion to grow the division, he created many effective products while building valuable relationships with suppliers and customers to the personal care industry. He left an enduring imprint on Micro Powders' success and growth and is dearly missed by company employees.
He is survived by his wife Alexandra and their two sons, Daniel 12 and James, 9.
