Amorepacific Corporation was awarded the Host Society Award at the 24th Conference of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) Conference 2017 that took place at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, Samsung-dong, Seoul from Oct. 23-25.
The oral presentation by Amorepacific R&D Center’s Eunbi Ko on her study of the genes of Korean people (Title: Genotype-Phentotype Interaction Analysis of Skin Properties via Genome-Wide Association Studies in 471 Korean Females) was recognized among host country presenters as an exemplary thesis. The paper, which revealed the possibility of analyzing skin aging and providing a genetically personalized solution based on the analysis of genotype-phenotype correlations of Korean women, was highly evaluated for its innovation and future possibilities.
This is the second time for Korea to host the IFSCC, following the 2003 conference. More than 1,000 cosmetic researchers and attendees from all around the world participated in this year’s event, themed “Cosmetic Science: Beauty, Convergence and Creativity.” More than 20 oral presentations and 325 poster presentations were given.
Three recognitions – the ‘Johann Wiechers Award’ (for best oral presentation); the ‘Poster Award’ (for best poster presentation); and the ‘Host Society Award’ (awarded to outstanding papers from host country speakers) were awarded at this year’s conference.
In addition to the award-winning presentation, Amorepacific R&D Center’s Serim Yoon presented her case study of innovation around cushion compacts (Title: Reshaping the Global Beauty Culture: Endless Innovation of Cushion) during the pre-conference workshop program. Gwen Tong of Amorepacific Singapore R&I Center also gave an oral presentation on the findings of her study on ASEAN cushion customers (Title: An Insider's Perspective on Asean Consumers: A Shift Towards The Cosmetic Usgae of Cushion Opens Up Possibilities in Innovating and Customizing Product Formulation According to User's Preferred Attributes.)
