Since the introduction of injectable neuromodulation using Botox cosmetic, the world of cosmetic rejuvenation has not been the same. Botox is the number one cosmetic procedure during the past five years for several reasons. It works predictably. It is safe. It is easy for the patient. In just a couple of days after a treatment that involved no time off from work or play, the patient looks more relaxed, eyebrows are lifted and eyes appear more open. As a result, patients now look at rejuvenation differently. Due to Botox’s success and newer dermal fillers that are more durable and versatile, patients are doing more to look better without the risks that conventional surgery can bring.
Dermatologists have perfected the art of non-surgical rejuvenation. We combine skin products that refine the complexion with an arsenal of peels, lasers and light devices that resurface more severe discolorations, lines and wrinkles. We can help our patients choose among lasers and light devices that require multiple sessions, but allow the patient to continue their normal activities. Alternatively, patients can choose fractional lasers that entail weekend swelling or fractional CO2 lasers with a week of downtime that are safer than the older resurfacing devices.
In general, the new rejuvenation paradigm involves combining all of our tools: fillers like Restylane and Juvederm; volumizers like Radiesse and Sculptra; neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport; and lasers such as Fraxel, Pearl and various peels like TCA (trichloro acetic acid) Jessner, and AHA. (alpha hydroxyl acid)
We are expert in individualizing the protocols and managing the health of the patient's skin both before and after each procedure to insure better results, safer recuperations, and long-term improvement. The benefits of seeking the care of a board-certified dermatologist for non-surgical rejuvenation are clear!
