Procedure | |
Charge beaker with deionized water and begin heating to 60°C. Sprinkle carbomer in the vortex and mix with strong agitation until it is completely dispersed. Repeat the procedure with PEG 7M. When polymers are completely dispersed, reduce the mixing speed and add the ingredients one at a time while continually mixing but avoiding air entrapment in the batch. When all the ingredients are completely mixed and the batch cools to room temperature, check the pH and viscosity.
