Origenere combats environmental triggers that accelerate the “aging process” of hair.

Often referred to as one’s “crowning glory,” a person’s hair can say a lot about them. But for those with thinning, brittle, lackluster hair, that kind of communication can be downright difficult. While studies have determined that hair and skin degradation are partly genetic, environmental factors can accelerate this process. Aware that existing product offerings on the market contain damaging chemicals that hinder the healthy development of hair, and taking environmental factors such as oxidative stress, UV radiation and toxins into account, hair transplant experts, Dr. Antonio Armani and his sister, Dr. Sara Armani, formulated their own range of Origenere “anti-aging” hair care products infused with OrganoNutrients to help “decelerate the aging process by tackling harmful environmental triggers.”
The Origenere line was developed to solve some of the problems that Dr. Antonio Armani discovered while treating patients in his practice. |
“Damaging elements to hair include UV radiation, pollutants in the environment and toxins built up from using cosmetics for hair and skin that are not safe (unknown origins and potentially contaminated),” he explained. “Poor nutrition also causes hair thinning and may accelerate hair loss especially with today’s type of food which is calorie rich but nutrient poor.”
The duo’s hair and skin care products, launched five months ago, take a holistic approach to healthy skin and hair.
“Knowing that the hair and skin is one organ, we decided to treat the whole head as opposed to just the scalp and hair,” he said. “For example it is well known that in people with dandruff, hair loss is accelerated. The acne lesions that form are also affected by DHT levels that are also involved in hair loss.”
The formulations make key use of a proprietary OrganoNutrients complex, comprised of a synergistic blend of ingredients including organic glyceric phytocomplex made up of hops (Humulus Lupulus), sage (Salvia Officinalis) and fenugreek (Trigonella Graecum) extract—pure botanicals derived from organic plantations. Dr. Armani explained that the complex itself “refers to the combination of ingredients that are not excessive and not lacking in providing the organ structure (hair /skin) with the proper amounts of ingredients that work in synergy to help the whole structure of the organelles. In addition, toxic and potentially harmful ingredients are eliminated and nutrients as well as anti aging antioxidants are provided in a continuous 24 hour format.”
There are five topical products in the hair care line. The Shampoo and Conditioner for Thinning Hair ($29 each) are formulated with “cell-enhancing nutrients to enrich the hair and scalp improving the appearance of thinning hair.” The Hair Styling Cream ($39) “bathes the hair in rich antioxidants, minimizing the look of thinning hair while restoring natural shine and strength” through the use of rice bran oil, passion flower seed oil and vitamin E. The Hair & Scalp Tonic for Thinning Hair ($49) is formulated with bioactive OrganoNutrients to encourage “the regeneration process.” And a Leave On Tonic for Dry Itchy Scalp ($49) is formulated with lavender flower water, salicylic acid and urea to soothe and calm scalp irritations.
The line also includes a Hair & Skin Revitalizing Dietary Supplement ($49) which is said to provide essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and “strengthening cellular compounds” that “offer protection and nourishment” for the hair and skin’s cellular structures.
The company asserts that its products are “proven to increase cellular renewal showing results in just five weeks.”
“The hair and skin are continually regenerating themselves,” said Dr. Armani. “Some of the cells may appear to be ‘dead’ but in fact the whole follicle with the hair shaft and the engine that drives the cells are very much alive and prone to forces from within and outside of the structure. The cells will react to changes in humidity, hormones and environmental forces. By carefully choosing our ingredients and ensuring they are safe, the system we have put together works to keep the hair and skin healthy and alive.”
Each of the company’s hair and skin products are sold on the Origenere website. The company also markets acne and dandruff products, as well as products formulated to help grow hair.
