For Mother’s Day Bond No. 9 is offering new Astor Place in a limited edition Swarovski crystal bottle. |
On Sunday May 10, billions of dollars worth of gifts will be presented to moms across America. And while nobody loves mommy less this year, Mother’s Day spending is likely to take a hit.
“Consumer sentiment and an unclear economic picture are forcing households to tighten spending, delay unnecessary purchases and cut back on other costs. Many are just simply cutting any additional expenditure. This will impact on Mother’s Day sales, not only will the volume of gifts drop but also the type of gifts,” said Toon van Beeck, a senior industry analyst with IBISWorld.
While analysts are still crunching numbers and assessing just how much the current economic situation will impact spending, there may be a ray of light for the beauty business.

The 100ml limited edition bottle for Mother’s Day is $300.
