CeraVe debuts two new preventative skin care products.
“The best defense is a good offense" can be applied to a variety of situations—including skin care. Industry tastemakers at CeraVe, Valeant Pharmaceutical’s North America’s mass market skin care and sun care brand, is bulking up its portfolio with two SKUs for 2014: an eye cream and a stretch mark treatment. The products were introduced to beauty editors at a special event at The Pierre Hotel in New York City on Jan. 15.
The new Eye Repair Cream ($13.99) helps defend against a complexion that looks fatigued…and older than it should. It combines three essential ceramides, to help repair and restore the delicate barrier around the eyes, with hydrating hyaluronic acid to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Developed with dermatologists, this cream is designed not only to repair and restore the skin barrier, but also to visibly reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. This is due in part to a unique complex of marine and botanical extracts.
Meanwhile, the Stretch Marks Cream ($18.99) hydrates and nourishes skin for up to 24 hours while reducing the appearance of stretch marks, said Teryek. Combined with a peptide and botanical complex, essential ceramides help to repair and restore the protective skin barrier, reducing the appearance of unattractive stretch marks. At the same time, hyaluronic acid attracts needed moisture to keep skin soft and supple and argan oil nourishes to help prevent new stretch marks from forming. It’s a stretch mark “one-two punch!”
