Artist Collaboration

The latest in collectible cosmetics is a limited-edition collection by artist Santigold, exclusively for Smashbox. Products span from palettes packaged in collage art ($36) to the Be Legendary Lipstick Ring ($49) adorned with Swarovski crystals with a lipstick hidden inside.

Covetable Swirls of Color

Following collections in 2008 and 2011, photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa teamed up again with Shu Uemura for four exclusive new images and package designs billed as covetable treasures. Pictured is the Eye Shadow Spiral Duo ($40).

Brands from Smashbox to Nars are rolling out hot hues complete with novel packaging this summer, as seen in a variety of recent launches in the prestige marketplace. According to Jane Cosmetics leading makeup artist Sarah Lucero, New York City/Los Angeles, Summer 2014 is all about color. She told Happi.com, “I’m loving a bold power pout. Neon pinks, vibrant oranges and juicy red lips feel fresh and modern, and have a playful, pop-art effect.”
