Renewing the Lease

Well into 2017, skin care brands are rolling out novel products to excite shoppers.

Mellow Yellow

Inspired by a pre-wedding beauty tradition known as the Haldi ceremony from India, in which a homemade turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom for glowing skin, the Tulasara Wedding Masque Eye Overnight from Aveda is a 97% naturally-derived eye mask.

Superfood for Skin

The latest buzz at Burt’s Bees is the new Skin Nourishment collection. This 99% natural regimen for the face is packed with vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and minerals. Each formula is also infused with royal jelly. Products span from a foaming cleanser to SPF day lotion.

Soak It In

New bath products from Indie Lee combine a blend of sea salts (Pacific, Atlantic, Himalayan and Dead Sea) to stimulate circulation and relieve aching muscles. Meanwhile, the multi-tasking nutrient oils nourish from head to toe with jojoba, apricot, sunflower, safflower, olive and avocado.

Radiant Range

The newest addition to the Ulta Beauty Collection is here: Radiant Skincare. Start by cleansing skin with the Radiant Skin Warming Charcoal Cleanser to remove impurities, then lather on the Radiant Skin Brightening Serum to hydrate and smooth. The Radiant Skin Daily Face Moisturizer will have skin glowing all day.

So Pretty

Pardon My Pretty prides itself on making you “smell good, look good, feel good.” Through arctic vitamins and a super fruit blend, the line includes a body spray, scrub and lotion in a variety of scent stories like Date Night and At the Candy Shop.

Skin care, with a new focus and messaging to meet the needs of a broader consumer base, will rise in importance this year, noted Karen Grant, senior vice president and global industry analyst for The NPD Group. Here’s a look at some of the season’s leading launches that are sure to put on a fresh face.
