US color cosmetics sales have risen a modest 2% during the past year to $11.0 billion. However, research from Mintel reveals that consumers desire more simplified makeup routines. Skin care-inspired benefits are in high demand among color cosmetics users as the lines between facial makeup and skin care continue to blur, according to Mintel. Indie brands such as Milk Makeup are tapping into this trend with some new SKUs for the season that both beautify as well as perfect skin and enhance eyes and lips.
