Cognis Care Launches Cosmedia SP Polymer

November 11, 2005

Cosmedia SP, a new high-tech polymer from Cognis Care Chemicals, improves the sensorial precision, aesthetics and structure of skin care products from creams to sprays, according to executives. Cosmedia SP, an emulsifying polymer on a polyacrylate base, is also said to increase thickening, emulsifying and stabilizing precision. Other benefits are a light texture, fast emulsion adsorption, oil phase flexibility and ethanol compatibility.

“Cosmedia SP can be combined with almost all possible emulsifying agents,” said Bettina Jackwerth, head of the skin care market segment. “It can also be used in ‘emulsifier-free’ formulation concepts, resulting in so-called gel creams.”
