Versagel R Gels

November 14, 2005

Penreco, Houston, TX, introduced the Ver-sagel R “more rigid” series of hydrocarbon gels. These transparent gels have superior moisturizing qualities, making them ideal for use in cosmetic and personal care products, according to executives. The gels can suspend various solid ingredients or disperse ingredients without settling, such as pigments, glitter and active ingredients.
The series includes Versagel R (USP grade white oil) and Versagel RE (synthetic hydrocarbon base). Besides their rigid state, both Versagel R products soften as their temperature increases. Additionally, the gels are thermally reversible, UV stable and free of synerisis or “bleeding.”
