Uniqema Introduces Emollient Imaginarium

November 15, 2005

Uniqema recently introduced the Emol-lient Imaginarium. The Emollient Imaginarium is a tool for the personal care industry that allows formulators to develop consumer products that have excellent sensorial features and perform well, according to executives. It consists of a sampler of 15 different emollients marketed by Uniqema, each with its own sensory characteristics and performance-enhancing features, executives said.
The tool is designed to be a starting point for exploration in developing emollient systems for virtually any type of personal care product. Uniqema also introduced Arlatone LC, an ingredient that can deliver highly stable emulsions with a virtually unlimited set of ingredients, according to company executives. Arlatone LC promotes the formation of hydrosomes, or liquid crystals, in skin care products, allowing formulators to produce products with benefits such as prolonged hydration, controlled release of actives, effective control of transepidermal water loss and a light, pleasant skin feel.
