Allendale, NJ-based Lonza, Inc. launched Natrulon DermaSphere Oleosome technology, an all-natural, multifunctional emollient, emulsifier and moisturizer all in one. According to company executives, the mild and non-sensitizing technology can comprise the entire oil phase of a cosmetic emulsion as well as reduce manufacturing costs and ease formulation through cold processing techniques. The technology is based on a natural oil-in-water emulsion derived from plant oil seeds. It can be used in moisturizing creams, sunscreens, ointments, lotions, eye care products and more.
Developed by SemBioSys Genetics, Inc., a Canadian biotechnology company, the DermaSphere Oleosome technology has a broad patent protection in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere. More info: www.lonza.com.
