A Novel Structure Makes Parsol SLX Unique

November 22, 2005

Parsol SLX, new from DSM Nutritional Products, is the only UVB filter available to the industry that has the novel structure of benzyl malonate chromophores attached to specific points on a polysiloxane chain. This creates a liquid-mineral UV filter that remains on the skin, where it exerts a protective effect against UVB radiation, executives at the Parsippany, NJ-based company said.
Parsol SLX can be obtained in combination with nanopigments such as micronized titanium dioxide and zinc oxide for sun care products sold in Europe. Previously, such a combination was proprietary only, executives added.
