The new MultiStar DSC high-sensitivity sensor from Mettler Toledo, Columbus, OH, is designed for extreme measurements for the pharmaceutical, polymer and forensic industries. The DSC sensor measures the heat flow of a sample and the reference side separately, so it does not require a homogeneous sensor temperature.
The MultiStar DSC sensor detects weak effects, such as those that occur with active pharmaceutical substances, food, polymers and biological products. Due to its high sensitivity, smaller sample quantities of high-value products can be utilized and small transitions, such as solid-to-solid transitions, can be easily detected, executives said.
