Pentapharm Introduces Anti-Wrinkle Active

December 9, 2005

Basel, Switzerland-based Pentapharm launched Syn-Ake, a new anti-wrinkle active compound based on a synthetic tripeptide that mimics the effect of Waglerin-1, a peptide that is found in the venom of the Trimeresurus Wagleri snake that reportedly blocks neuromuscular contractions. During the past 30 years, Pentapharm has bred and housed snakes whose venom is used for therapeutic and diagnostic products. Syn-Ake is offered as a glycerin-based aqueous solution.
