Marinova Produces Macroalgal Extracts for Cosmetics

Marinova, an Australian company spe- cializing in natural extracts from organic macroalgae wild-harvested in pristine ocean waters. Based in Tasmania, Australia Marinova manufactures all its products on-site.

Marinova produces extracts from a wide variety of INCI-listed macroalgae, all sourced from hand-harvested macroalgae. All extracts are off-white in color and suitable for skin and sun care applications.

Durvillea Antarctica extract is harvested from the west coast of Tasmania, one of the most isolated marine environments in the Southern Hemisphere. Macrocystis pyrifera extract is from the waters of Patagonia in Argentina. Ascophyllum nodosum extract is harvested from the waters of Nova Scotia in Canada while Undaria pinnatifida extract is from the east coast of Tasmania, in the waters of Maria Island National Park.

Marinova also provides whole seaweed powders, all INCI-listed for their skin protecting qualities, and also suitable for color cosmetics. These include Tasmanian wakame, a dark green powder; Patagonian Porphyra, a dark red powder and Nova Scotian Ulva lactuca, a bright green powder.
