Tri-K Industries Introduces D-Gamma Tocopherol

March 6, 2007

The lighter side of vitamin E, gamma tocopherol, is powerful due to its antioxidant activity. Until recently, other forms of vitamin E have been largely overlooked as having less activity than alpha tocopherol, but in fact, each form has a distinct biological activity.

Gamma tocopherol has been found to effectively lighten and brighten the skin, reduce inflammation associated redness and provide antioxidant protection. Gamma tocopherol is found in high concentrations in corn, soybean and cottonseed oils. It has been proven to effectively inhibit melanin synthesis and redness when applied to the skin, by inhibiting Cox II, tyrosinase and other melanin-activating factors.

Unlike other skin lightening actives, gamma tocopherol is a multifunctional active ingredient that imparts protection against UV, inflammation and other environmental factors while providing an even skin tone. These properties are ideal for skin lightening products, anti-aging applications, pre-and post-sun treatments and body creams.
