This year, LCW–Sensient Cosmetic Technologies launched many new
concepts and products. Several developments have been led by its laboratories to achieve a fair balance between sustainable cosmetic products respecting the environment and the search of new textures combining technology and sensorial feeling.
One standout was sustainable cosmetics, edible products. Natural ingredients respecting both health and environment have been the main objective of the development of the Covagourmet line. This food grade range is based on the precise selection of substances derived from natural renewable sources. Four products are offered in the collection: Natpure Gum, a thickener for aqueous phase based on vegetable gums; Natpure Cellgum, a cellulosic ingredient allowing the formulation of surfactant-free emulsions while creating a thixotropic gel adapted to sprayable products; Natpure Sol, a natural solubilizer derived from sugar cane presenting excellent emulsifying properties for O/W emulsions and, Natpure SF, an emulsifier with a low HLB for W/O emulsions.
These four new ingredients complete other important products of the LCW lines with, in particular, a complete range of natural dyes to achieve the formulation of original products: edible cosmetics!
