Stepan Highlights Naturally-Derived Ingredients at Supply Side West

October 3, 2007

In order to address the needs of today’s consumers who recognize the connection between nutrition and healthy skin and hair, Stepan Company offers a line of naturally-derived ingredients for use in food, supplements, cosmeceuticals and personal care.

Produced with ingredients derived from vegetable oils, Neobee Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) are nutritional lipids that are metabolized by the body in 1/8th the time of conventional fats. They are commonly used as the fat source in Medical and Sports Nutritional products. When used as an ingredient in creams and lotions, water–white Neobee MCTs provide excellent lubricity and skin feel due to their low viscosity.

For those in personal care or cosmeceuticals, Stepan offers a wide range of naturally-derived, multi-functional surfactants. Featured at Supply Side West will be Stepan-Mild L3, a new secondary surfactant derived from lactic acid and lauryl alcohol. Formulations using L3 show better foaming, viscosity build, moisturization and improved skin feel than other secondary surfactants on the market today. At 2% active, L3 shows improved solubilization of active ingredients such as salicylic acid.
