Dow Corning, Lipo Chemicals Unveil New Formulations

June 23, 2008

New concept formulations from Dow Corning, in alliance with Lipo Chemicals Inc., feature microencapsulation technology that combines the proven benefits of silicone with customized release to create distinctive formulations. “By encapsulating a wide range of ingredients inside a protective shell, formulators can create unique, consumer-pleasing products that not only feel luxurious, but also have enticing fragrances and are visually distinctive,” said Todd Ostergaard, senior industry specialist, Dow Corning Beauty and Personal Care Products.

According to Dow Corning, combining microencapsulation with the proven benefits of silicone, formulators can create visual appeal, protect unstable cosmetic actives, sustain or customize release, and combine previously incompatible ingredients in one formulation.
