The Soap and Detergent Association’s (SDA) www.cleaning101.com website offers puzzles, games and information on the benefits of cleaning to control asthma and allergy triggers. Most recently, SDA sponsored the “My Clean Home” asthma art contest for kids, open to children in kindergarten through grade six in the U.S. and Canada.
Children are encouraged to create original artwork corresponding with the theme of “how we clean to control asthma at home.” The winning artwork will be displayed nationally and winners will receive gift certificates for a family night out.
Contest details are available on the “It’s All in the Family” activity sheet at www.cleaning101.com/asthma. The deadline for the contest is Dec. 31.
“Cleaning is an effective and inexpensive way to remove many substances that trigger asthma and allergy suffering,” pointed out Nancy Block, SDA’s vice president of education. “The art contest is a chance for families to share clean-up strategies with asthma and allergy sufferers nationwide.”
