With six years of continuous growth, innovative and scientifically-advanced products and record numbers of women joining as independent consultants, BeautiControl executives maintain that their company is fast becoming a household name across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. As the spa market leader in the direct sales industry, BeautiControl was the first company to bring the spa experience into people’s homes in early 2002 with its one-hour party concept, the Spa Escape. Today, the Spa Escape is more in demand than ever.
In January 2006, BeautiControl broke ground on a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that is home to the BeautiControl Research Institute. It is there that the company’s products are conceived, formulated, tested and manufactured. With the opening of this facility, BeautiControl enhanced its environmental program, implementing a number of new “green” initiatives:
• All obsolete compound and finished goods along with goods that did not pass stringent quality testing, as well as all processed waste water is sent to a vendor who uses it to produce a high-quality compost. Previous to this initiative, all waste was disposed of by means of landfills, deep well injection or incineration.
• All fluorescent lighting has been changed from F40T12 to F32T08 bulbs. This results in an immediate 20% reduction in energy consumption and ultimately reduces the toxic gases emitted into the atmosphere. Wherever possible, motion detectors have been installed to ensure lights are not left on when not required.
• New “Energy Star” appliances were installed to further reduce energy consumption.
Other “green” initiatives already in place include:
• All cardboard and paper is baled and recycled.
• All empty poly and metal drums are sold for scrap recycling.
• Damaged wooden pallets are sold and rebuilt for resale.
Helping Society at Large
The company’s charity of choice, the WHO (Women Helping Others) Foundation, is another way BeautiControl impacts women’s lives. WHO is a non-profit organization that supports grassroots charities dedicated to women and children in need. The foundation uses donations—from BeautiControl independent consultants and their customers, from BeautiControl corporate and from the sale of select BeautiControl products—to fulfill its mission of giving back to communities.
