CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick
Perfect color is simply not enough for today’s cosmetic customer—they want in all, including improving texture and condition. CoverGirl is stepping up to the plate with its new Lip Perfection Lipstick ($7.50), out now. The company states using the lipstick for seven days will enhance moisturization—and it delivers on its claims.
Happi tested Dazzle, a medium pink, for over a week. The wear is lightweight yet the color pigment is strong. A vanilla taste is delivered at first but fades fast if you’re not into that sort of thing. The lipstick has a smooth slip—not sticky or frosty, even though the color has a metallic sheen.
A Silk Therapy Complex does work in combination to help improve lip condition. It includes an olive oil derived emollient; white tea, leveraged from Olay, an ingredient popular in anti-aging cosmetics; a Butters Complex made from shea, avocado and aloe; silk protein, derived from pure silk to help soften lips.
The collection features a variety of shades—44 to be exact—designed by CoverGirl Creative Director Pat McGrath. From browns to lilacs, mauves to burgundies, nudes to corals to reds, McGrath wanted color for everyone.
Overall, this lipstick is quite wearable and for $7.50 a pop, you can’t go wrong to try it!
