Imagine transforming into the news that you write about. For beauty blogger Michelle Mismas, founder of All Lacquered Up (www.alllacqueredup.com), her knowledge of the nail polish domain led her to become a guest collaborator for a special nail polish collection of the same name from Shades by Barielle.
The new range—aptly named “All Lacquered Up”— offers unexpected color combinations by combining glitter particle and pearl shimmer effects, according to the company.
“We wanted to infuse the collection with what we saw at Fashion Week: a retro tomato red lip at Tibi; the luxe browns, mauves and steel blues of Reem Acra; the recurring palettes of chic grays from designers like Badgley Mischka,” explained Mismas.
Barielle also recently teamed up withfashion designer Reem Acra to unveil Without a Stitch, a sheer pink nail polish hue inspired by the designer’s Spring 2010 collection.
In All Lacquered Up (the nail collection), black polish gets injected with a shot of colorful shimmer with Lava Rock, a black and red pearl swirl, and Blackened Bleu, a black polish with sapphire sparkle. Basic blue and green polishes are revamped in Falling Star, a marine blue with gold glitter particles, and Polished Princess, a safari green with copper shimmer. “Drop-dead reds” include Glammed Out Garnet, a ruby-on-ruby sparkle, and Pin Up, a tomato red shimmer. There are also trendy grays with Out-Grey-Geous, a silver shimmer, U-Concrete-Me, a steely gray, Slate of Affairs, a worn denim and Putt-E-On-Me, a classic clay. Brown and purple round out the mix with Make it a Latte, a chocolate cream with golden highlights, and Get Mauve-ing, a muted mauve.
All Lacquered Up offers a range of colors to choose from. |
The merger of beauty bloggers and the cosmetic industry seems to be all the rage this season. Sephora recently debuted a cosmetics collection from Lauren Luke, whose claim to fame is homemade YouTube videos on how to apply makeup; Procter & Gamble’s Swifter also recently hosted an exclusive lounge at the 2009 BlogHer conference.
