The Philosophy brand shared its newest approach to anti-aging skin care with the launch of a collection of products based on a formulation of retinoids, vitamin C, and a fresh dispensing method that delivers optimum potency in application. The collection, called The Miracle Worker collection, launched at a breakfast at Ed’s Chowder House on the upper West Side of New York City earlier this month. The line supports the values of the Philosophy brand, created in 1996, by Cristina Carlino, who contended that women wanted products that provided results, as well as simplicity.

Taking into consideration an individual’s diet, whether fruits and vegetables are consumed, and how often, as well as such factors as water consumed, exercise levels, stress factors, sun exposure and sunburns, skin care regimens, and other lifestyle choices, White was able to facilitate an appraisal of one’s skin age relative to one’s actual age. While variations occurred across the spectrum of attendees, White urged that it was never too late to start a good skin care routine, noting that philosophy’s approach addressed “The difference between age defining and age defying.”

While editors tweeted on “Love Philosophy,” the name of the tweet everyone could follow with the latest philosophy brand news, attendees learned the impact of external factors in skin aging.
“Fifty percent of aging factors come from the external, which is why we are seeing the difference between age defining and age defying skin,” said White.
One of the new launches in the philosophy Miracle Worker Collection, The Miracle Worker, Anti-Aging Retinoid Pads, is a two step process, created to address the smoothness and clarity of the skin, in its first week of application; discolorations and age spots, after four weeks of application; and wrinkles and fine lines, after eight weeks of application. In tests conducted, White noted that 92% of participants found improvement in reduction of wrinkles, enhanced elasticity, and improved skin discoloration.

The next launch, Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer, is a luxurious cream designed to help replenish the skin’s natural moisture barrier, leaving it satiny smooth. It provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits with resveratrol, sourced from Japanese Knotwood, to promote skin vitality and radiant, firm skin. In addition, the formulation contains vitamin C and glutathione, to brighten a tired complexion and protect the skin against environmental attack, the primary cause of premature anti-aging. Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer retails for $55 (2 oz.). Both Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Retinoid Pads and Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer are currently available at: www.philosophy.com, at philosophy stores, Sephora, Nordstrom and select specialty stores.
In addition, the newest launch, which will be available in stores in June 2010, is Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Concentrate, which features a breakthrough peptide technology that includes myristoyl pentapeptide, to bolster the skin’s natural ability to self rejuvenate as it helps support natural collagen, resulting in increased firmness. The water-based gel helps bind hydration to the skin to maintain its natural moisture barrier and protect the skin from free radical attack, while creating a healthy glow. The formulation contains special bodyguards, called lysolethicin, which help escort the peptides into the skin, as well as astaxanthin, found in salmon, to protect the skin in the morning, and proprietary peptides to protect the skin in the evening. The lightweight formula makes it suitable for use under makeup, sunscreen or moisturizer. The Concentrate will retail for $62 (1 oz.), and will be available at: www.philosophy.com, philosophy stores and select specialty stores in June.
