Kruger Patents Paper Towel With Disinfecting Properties

US Patent No. 8,128,950 B2; Kruger Products L.P., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, has patented a dry paper towel comprising a substrate and a single antimicrobial composition disposed on the substrate. The composition is surfactant-free and comprises a hydrophilic solvent in which a single antimicrobial active agent (2-phenylphenol) is dispersed.

The paper towel exhibits a log 10 decrease in CFU/ml of at least about 0.1 for an exposure of 15 minutes.
