K-C Patents Ultrasonic Treatment Chamber for Emulsion Preparation

US Patent No. 8,143,318 B2; Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. has patented a method for preparing an emulsion using an ultrasonic mixing system. The method entails introducing a first phase into a first inlet port of an elongate housing of a treatment chamber at a flow rate of from about 1 gram per minute to about 100,000 grams per minute; introducing a second phase into a second inlet port of the elongate housing of the treatment chamber at a flow rate of from about 1 gram per minute to about 100,000 grams per minute; and ultrasonically activating the treatment chamber.
