INDIA: DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company LLC has appointed Brenntag India Pvt. Ltd. as distributor for Zemea propanediol in India.

Zemea is a natural, 100% bio-based ingredient made from corn sugar through fermentation and developed for use in the cosmetics and personal care market. It is a high-performance, environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin, where the product’s lack of skin irritation, improved moisturization and excellent aesthetic properties are benefits. Zemea is approved as a natural ingredient by Ecocert, Natrue and the Natural Products Association; is certified 100% biobased by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has both Kosher and Halal certifications.
In addition to India, Brenntag also manages distribution of Zemea in Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

“We are excited to partner with Brenntag India which brings effective and experienced sales, marketing and technical teams to represent Zemea in India. They will deliver excellent value to the formulators by promoting Zemea, a superior glycol alternative that is not only functionally better but also environmentally friendly,” said Gowri Nagarajan, account executive, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products.
Brenntag Asia Pacific recently opened new headquarters in Mumbai with in-house personal care technical application laboratories.
