Stiefel Patents Foamable Suspension Gel

US Patent No. 8,158,109 B2; Stiefel Research Australia, Rowville, Australia, has been awarded a US patent for a foamable suspension gel. The aqueous foamable suspension gel in a pressurized container is comprised of an aqueous phase comprising water; benzoyl peroxide as the sole active agent suspended in the aqueous phase; a thickening agent; and an aerosol propellant. The foamable suspension gel comprises at least 30% by weight based on the total weight of the gel of water and is alcohol-free and oil-free, and it forms a homogenous foam when dispensed from the pressurized container.
