US Patent No. 8,187,338 B2; Procter & Gamble has patented an oxidative hair colorant composition substantially free of surfactant. The composition contains a hair dye, an alkalizing agent, an oxidizing agent and a foam stabilizing agent selected from the group consisting of polymeric emulsifiers, polymeric foam stabilizers and mixtures thereof. The patent also includes a manually-actuable, non-aerosol dispenser that houses the composition. When the dispenser is actuated, the composition is dispensed as a foam.
