Procedure | |
Phase A: Prepare 2% Carbopol 940 solution with continuous mixing. Be sure Carbopol 940 is completely dispersed. Heat to 70°C and hold at temperature for 30 minutes if needed, to disperse Carbopol 940. Phases A & B: Separately combine phase A and phase B and heat to 75°C. Add phase B to phase A with good agitation. Homogenize for 5 minutes at 6,500 rpm. Continue mixing and cool down to 45°C. Phase C: Add triethyl citrate to Hydrovance moisturizing agent and mix until the triethyl citrate is dissolved. Once dissolved, add in Glydant Plus Liquid and mix. Once phase AB reaches 45°C, add phase C to phase AB. Continue mixing and adjust pH to 6.4-6.6 with triethanolamine and cool to room temperature. | |
