Blyth, Inc.: named Robert B. Goergen Jr. to the newly created role of president and chief operating officer. Goergen Jr. will retain his responsibilities as president, PartyLite Worldwide. Goergen Jr. joined Blyth in 2000, initially overseeing Blyth’s web-oriented initiatives and strategic technology investments and, later, its acquisition strategy and implementation. He championed the initiative to expand Blyth’s direct-to-consumer presence, leading Blyth’s entry into the catalog and internet channel with the acquisitions of a series of general merchandise and health and wellness catalog brands.
In other news, Blyth, Inc. named Michael Norris to fill the newly-created position of president, PartyLite Americas. In his expanded role, Norris, who currently oversees both the US and Canada, assumes responsibility for Mexico, a developing market for PartyLite’s products and earnings opportunity. Norris has 20 years of experience in the direct selling industry and joined PartyLite in February 2010 as senior vice president of sales and marketing. He was promoted to president, PartyLite US, 10 months later and, earlier this year, assumed leadership of the Canadian business.
Prior to joining PartyLite, Norris was chief sales and marketing officer for Gold Canyon in Arizona.
