The global personal care business welcomed Puck van Doorn

• AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry: The global personal care business welcomed Puck van Doorn in the Surface Chemistry EMEIA group as marketing project manager, personal care applications. Her responsibilities include providing support to a number of regional and global marketing projects initiated by the personal care applications marketing team serving AkzoNobel customers in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. Previously, she was a marketing manager for AkzoNobel’s industrial chemicals business unit, with additional responsibility for logistics and customer services. Prior to joining AkzoNobel in 2008, she worked in The Netherlands in marketing for L’Oréal and as a project manager on the Procter & Gamble account at the marketing communications firm Neroc’VGM BV.

Hartmut Schiemann, Ph.D., has joined the surface chemistry EMEIA group as technical manager personal care. His responsibilities include overseeing personal care product development and technical support for AkzoNobel customers in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, as well as managing the personal care applications laboratory located at the AkzoNobel Research and Technology Centre in Navi Mumbai, India. Based in Sempach Station, Switzerland, Schiemann reports directly to Magnus Linsten, director of research, development and innovation, AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry EMEIA.
 

Puck van Doorn
A veteran of nearly 20 years in the personal care business, Schiemann brings extensive international experience in process technology, production and supply chain management; RD&I management; and cosmetic applications development to his new position. Prior to joining AkzoNobel, he worked at Procter & Gamble in Darmstadt, Germany, as section head for the development of styling and specialty products, and in Brussels, Belgium, as section head for the company’s microprocessing technology platform. His international experience also includes tenures as head of category initiative planning for Wella AG in Hünfeld, Germany, head of production at Belfam Indústria Cosmética Ltda. in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (part of the Wella Group), and group manager for product and process development styling at Ondal ZNL der Wella AG in Hünfeld.
