• THAILAND: Pola Orbis Holdings Inc. will partner with Thai retail firm Central Group to launch its first overseas shop selling the Three-brand natural beauty care products inside a Bangkok department store. It aims to increase directly run outposts in Thailand to 20 in the next five years, according to a report in the Nikkei.

According to the report, Pola will also open Three-brand stores in Singapore in 2014 and plans to offer the Orbis mail-order cosmetics brand in Singapore this year.

In other news from the firm, Pola Orbis plans to shutter the older of its two Shizuoka Prefecture factories next year. The plant was opened in 1954.

Pola Orbis said it will move some manufacturing to its Fukuroi factory and will move other production operations to subcontractors.
