Cosmoprof Worldwide Attendance Increases

April 4, 2013

• ITALY: Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna closed its 2013 edition with record-breaking attendance figures—193,842 visitors, a 14% increase, including 48,823 from abroad, which was up 22%.
According to show organizers, there were 2,390 exhibitors, including 1,500 from abroad and 24 national collectives with new entries from Japan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Colombia. Italy, China and France topped the list of leading countries. Other countries with significant figures included the US, Germany and Spain, according to show organizers.

These figures are testament to the global mission of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, according to the show’s organizer. Together with the platforms of Las Vegas and Hong Kong, Cosmoprof has once again shown itself to be one of the most important trade fair worldwide in the cosmetics and beauty sector, the organizer said.

The delegation of Chinese buyers (invited by BolognaFiere China in partnership with the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise) held more than 200 meetings. The association, which is based in Beijing, has more than 800 members including the major department stores and chains of shops, distributors and wholesalers.

Within Cosmoprof there was a new location for Cosmopack, providing the “show within the show” an exhibition area dedicated to packaging, machinery and contract production. This formula proved to be very popular and drew visitors’ attention to a production supply chain where the “Made in Italy” brand has been playing a leading role.

“We have risen to the challenge that we set ourselves,” said Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere and SoGeCos, the company that organizes Cosmoprof. “The new Cosmoprof is increasingly international and professional, with the participation of buyers and delegations from abroad to whom we have offered the highest levels of quality and specialization.”

Mark your calendars: the next Cosmoprof Worldwide in Bologna is April 11-14, 2014.
