• The chapters of Area II are inviting Annual Scientific Seminar attendees to a cocktail reception on June 5 at the Missouri Botanical Garden, the nation’s oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark.
Passed hors d’oeuvres will be served for the first three hours and there will be an open bar. During the event, the Whitaker Music Festival will be taking place, which will allow attendees to explore the garden and enjoy music.
Tickets to the reception are $80 before May 4 or $100 after that date. The registration will close on May 31.
Founded in 1859, the garden is a center for botanical research and science education. It offers 79 acres of beautiful horticultural display, including a 14-acre Japanese strolling garden, Henry Shaw’s original 1850 estate home, and one of the world’s largest collections of rare and endangered orchids.
Two shuttle buses will be running simultaneously from the St. Louis Union Station Hotel (where the seminar will be held) directly to the Botanical Garden beginning at 6:30pm and ending at 11:30pm.
